Location and Working Environment
This field-based UK role involves:
- Travel across the UK, Europe, and potential overnight stays
- A requirement for a valid passport
- Ability to drive, holding a current/valid driving license

Purpose & Scope
This is a player-manager role (70% leadership, 30% business partnership). Your focus will be:
- Leading and coaching a high-performing Key Account Management team
- Partnering with strategic customers and priority accounts
- Driving exceptional sales growth and customer engagement in Oncology and Haematology (Precision Medicine)
- Translating strategy into execution while shaping local business plans and optimising resources.
- Inspiring your team to deliver outstanding commercial and ethical results.

- Embed a strong compliance culture across the Precision Medicine function, reinforcing Integrity in Action with ethical behaviour.
- Ensuring adherence to Astellas ethics, compliance, and engagement standards when engaging with:
- Healthcare Professionals

- Patient Organisations

Sales & Business Leadership
- Drive sales performance and P&L profitability, executing regional business and resource plans effectively.
- Partner with strategic accounts to strategise, approve objectives, and commission deliverables for measurable business growth.
- Monitor evolving healthcare trends and focus high-impact engagements on Precision Medicine solutions.
Team Leadership
- Coach and develop Key Account Managers (KAMs) through field visits, feedback, and capability-building to achieve high performance.
- Align team activities with strategic priorities, lead performance intervention and reporting to senior management.
- Manage cost/activities control, resource deployment, and stakeholder collaboration.
People Development
- Recruit, develop, and retain high-potential talent via succession planning, performance management, and training.
- Strengthen account management capabilities through continuous learning—including industry debates and best practices.
Operational Excellence
- Ensure regulations, ethical standards, and business systems are utilised proficiently (Microsoft Office, analytical tools).
Required Qualifications
- Relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent
- ABPI qualification
- Multi-year pharma sales experience with a customer-focused, matrix approach
- Proven Key Account Management (KAM) and team leadership experience
- Oncology/Haematology sales expertise)
- Strong NHS understanding with a commercial pharma implication focus
- Compliance knowledge of industry laws/regulations
- Demonstrated team development, coaching, and influence skills
