Premises Officer Job Description
About the Role

The Hammersmith & Fulham Adult Learning Service (HFALS) delivers exceptional learning and training opportunities for local residents and beyond. It supports students in attaining nationally recognised qualifications, helps them progress into employment, and fosters personal, social and economic growth.
HFALS is seeking a Premises Officer to maintain the new Learning and Skills Centre in White City, ensuring a safe, clean, and secure environment for students, staff, and the public. Open between 9:00 AM–5:00 PM, Monday to Friday (term time only), the role requires flexible working and the ability to adjust hours as the centre fully operationalises.
Key Responsibilities
The Premises Officer will be responsible for:
- Cleaning and maintenance – Clearing, disinfecting, and basic repairs as needed across facility areas
- Groundskeeping – Ground maintenance to keep the premises waste-free, orderly, and aesthetically pleasing
- Safety & security – Managing basic security measures, emergency protocols, and general site care
- Coordination – Assisting where necessary to support the seamless running of the Learning and Skills Centre

Requirements
- Ability to commit to flexible working during and around term-time schedule
- Physical fitness to perform regularly required tasks, such as cleaning, groundwork, and routine safety checks
- Adherence to safeguarding protocols specific to child/adult welfare protection
