About the Role

Overview This role is based at Victoria Coach Station—a landmark transport hub actively managing infrastructure, facilities, and engineering systems to deliver safe, efficient operations.

As Premises Maintenance Officer – Electrical, you’ll lead electrical preventative and reactive maintenance for assets, ensuring statutory compliance, efficient service delivery, and collaboration with stakeholders. You’ll work across sites including Victoria Coach Station, coordinating maintenance programmes and sustaining high-quality, customer-focused outcomes.


Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver day-to-day maintenance across allocated sites, optimising costs, timeliness, and resilience in partnership with in-house teams and contractors
  • Achieve operational performance improvements, aligning with service KPIs and scorecard targets
  • Oversee statutory compliance—health, safety, and asset maintenance responsibilities on behalf of Asset Operations
  • Build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships, including coach/bus operators
  • Provide technical input to projects, ensuring streamlined delivery and adherence to standards
  • Monitor minor works and validate execution quality, including pre- and post-event site checks
  • Facilitate knowledge sharing within the team to enhance capability and consistency
  • Proactively manage risks and enhance the customer experience through a deeper understanding of the network
  • Act as the point of contact for stakeholders and champion incident/emergency response initiatives
  • Support operational delivery for events, after-hours requirements, and on-call commitments

Key Requirements

Skills & Attributes

(Essential unless noted)

  • Independence and problem-solving abilities, alongside teamwork outside standard working hours
  • Practical aptitude—comfortable operating testing equipment, hand/power tools, and resolving maintenance challenges
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise complex tasks to high standards
  • Effective written and oral communication, especially with other skilled professionals and external stakeholders
  • Familiarity with health and safety compliance in contractor-lead workstreams
  • Desirable: Proficiency in Asset Management Systems (e.g., Concept, Maximo) or Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)

Qualifications & Knowledge

  • Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Electro-technical Services (Electrical Maintenance) (2357-23) or equivalent qualification (Essential)
  • Level 3 Award in Electrical Wiring Regulations (BS7671:2018) or JIB Graded Approved Electrician qualification (Essential)
  • Specialist knowledge: Building Services experience with a focus on electrical/multi-discipline maintenance including planned preventative maintenance, fault diagnosis, and repair (Essential)
  • Constructive working environment: Up-to-date understanding of statutory Health, Safety & Environmental regulations (Essential)
  • Desirable: Professional industry memberships in construction/health and safety (e.g., NICEIC, ECS), including:
    • Level 3 Award in Initial & Periodic Inspection and Testing of Electrical Installations (2391-52)
    • Level 3 Certificate for Inspection & Testing of Electrical Equipment (2377-12)

Experience

  • Electrical hands-on experience (lighting, wiring, security/access systems, telecoms), prioritising installation/maintenance work (Essential)
  • General premises maintenance skills including plumbing, decorating, carpentry, and minor externally-led repair tasks (Essential)
  • Desirable: In-front-line operational settings (e.g., train stations, hospitals), with experience managing risk assessments/method statements (RAMS) for contractors
