**Premium Hospitality Manager – The Mezz At AO Arena

As a Premium Hospitality Manager in The Mezz, you’ll lead either the restaurant or bar, ensuring industry-leading service in a fast-paced, vibrant environment. 📍 The Venue

AO Arena hosts over 30 million fans since its 1997 opening, showcasing iconic music acts, sporting spectacles, and events that define Manchester’s global reputation. Following a £50 million transformation, it remains a benchmark for live entertainment excellence—on and off the stage.


💼 The Role

This hands-on leadership position demands expertise in premium hospitality operations, primarily managing either the restaurant dining area or bar during event days. Your focus? Seamless service, team coordination, guest satisfaction, and flawless execution from opening to close.

  • Work environment: Event-based, casual shifts (evenings, weekends, major event days).

Core responsibilities span: ✔ Leading service excellence within The Mezz ✔ Guiding teams to deliver flawless, vacuum-sealed experiences ✔ Managing VIP logistics, reservations, and special guest needs ✔ Overseeing safety, compliance (Challenge 25, licensing), and protocol ✔ Ensuring high standards of ambience, presentation, and operational readiness

🔑 Responsibilities

  • Leadership on the floor:

    • Visibly direct teams to uphold premium service standards—ensuring timely, congenial, and efficient guest care.
    • Conduct pre-event briefings, oversee opening/closing routines, and troubleshoot real-time issues.
    • Resolve conflicts with diplomacy, maintaining positive guest relations.
  • Operational excellence:

    • Coordinate between front-of-house, kitchen, bar, hospitality, and event team for harmonious execution.
    • Manage order accuracy, allergen compliance, and licensing protocols with precision.
    • Maintain cleanliness, venue readiness, and ambience throughout service.
  • Team impact:

    • Provide coaching, mentorship, and role-model service to enhance team morale.
    • Foster a high-performance culture through proactive leadership.
  • Reporting:

    • Document incident logs, feedback summaries, and shift updates, escalating critical issues promptly.

We’re seeking a confident hospitality leader with:

  • Proven leadership in high-volume, premium settings (hotels, stadiums, arenas, or sister premises).
  • Exceptional floor management—handling chaotic event schedules, spotty team collaboration, or anything else thrown your way.
  • Guest-first ethos: exemplified through rapid issue resolution and exceptional recovery.
  • Legal-savvy: knowledge of licensing, health/safety, allergens management, and Challenge 25 procedures.
  • Impeccable organisational skills: juggling placeholder tasks effectively under tight deadlines.
  • Availability for flexible shifts, aligning with AO Arena’s seasonality.
