As a Prep Chef at Nathalie, you will play a crucial role in our kitchen team, ensuring that all ingredients are prepped to the highest standards for service. Your precision and efficiency will directly contribute to the smooth operation of the kitchen, supporting chefs in delivering exceptional food. You will work closely with the Senior Sous Chef and Head Chef to maintain a well-organized, clean, and sustainable kitchen environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Food Preparation: Accurately prep ingredients, including chopping, portioning, and pre-cooking elements, ensuring consistency and quality.
  • Support for Service: Assist chefs by maintaining a steady supply of prepped items to facilitate smooth kitchen operations.
  • Mise en Place: Ensure all preparatory work is completed before service, keeping stations organized and fully stocked.
  • Kitchen Hygiene: Maintain the highest standards of cleanliness, food safety, and hygiene, adhering to all health and safety regulations.
  • Stock Management: Monitor ingredient levels, report shortages, and ensure proper food storage to minimize waste.
  • Sustainability Practices: Follow sustainable food preparation methods, reducing waste and supporting our environmental commitments.

Qualifications

  • Experience: Previous experience in a kitchen environment is essential.
  • Efficiency & Attention to Detail: Ability to work quickly while maintaining high standards.
  • Team Player: Positive attitude, strong teamwork skills, and a willingness to learn.
  • Organizational Skills: Ability to multitask and maintain a clean and structured workspace.
