Presales / Solution Consultant for Payments (m/f/d)
You will be at the forefront of driving transformation and innovation, shaping products and advising clients regarding payments. Leveraging your deep understanding of payments in banking processes and the related technology, you will work closely with our customers and prospects to analyse existing products and services, identify and propose innovative, suitable business solutions, and elevate clients’ payment propositions to the next level.
With your in-depth expertise in payments and solutions, you act as an acknowledged expert within the banking sector, collaborating with stakeholders from business and IT to advise on the best technical and strategic solutions for their needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Interact with prospects, customers, and sales teams to thoroughly understand and anticipate business requirements
- Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) for payments in banking, advising clients and providing industry thought leadership on emerging payment technologies, including:
- Real-time payments
- ISO 20022
- Cross-border payments
- Digital currencies
- Develop and deliver convincing proposals by translating complex business needs into robust, technologically sound solution designs—focusing on SAP Fioneer’s payment solutions, particularly Payment Centralization
- Assess solution feasibility through customer validation (e.g.,Fit-Gap analyses) to uncover additional innovation opportunities
- Map intricate organizational dependencies to guide effective client engagement strategies
- Drive transformational progress during early project phases to ensure high alignment with business value

Requirements
Experience & Expertise
- 7+ years of consulting, banking, or software industry experience with a strong focus on payments
- Proven ability to successfully deliver complex solution and project engagements
- Deep expertise in payments technology and cross-functional financial industry knowledge
Technical & Sales Skills
- Technical understanding of payment innovation, including real-time, cross-border, and digital payment infrastructure
- Experience with responding to RfPs (Requests for Proposals) and RfIs (Requests for Information): crafting high-quality, impactful proposals
- Ability to combine a consultative sales approach with hands-on execution, especially in strategic or early-stage engagements

Industry & System Knowledge
- Background in SAP-related payments solutions or consulting is beneficial
Soft Skills
- Strong business acumen and entrepreneurial mindset
- Exceptional interpersonal and communications skills in English (German spoken is a plus)
