Presales / Solution Consultant for Payments (m/f/d)
As a Presales / Solution Consultant for Payments, you’ll drive transformation and innovation in payments, advising clients and shaping next-generation products. By leveraging deep expertise in payments, banking processes, and technology, you will collaborate with stakeholders—both business and IT—to design and propose tailored payment solutions.
You’ll be recognised as a subject matter expert in payments within financial organisations, advising on cutting-edge technologies such as:
- Real-time payments
- ISO20022
- Cross-border payments
- Digital currencies (and other emerging payment solutions)
Within SAP Fioneer, you’ll realise your potential in a company that values collaboration and driving transformative change, accelerating high business value in early project phases.
Key Responsibilities

Understand and articulate business needs:
- Work closely with prospects, customers, and internal sales teams to identify and anticipate requirements.

Thought leadership in payments technology:
- Serve as a SME during client interactions, advising on transformational payments processes and fueling innovation through technical expertise.

Develop and refine solution designs:
- Translate complex business needs into technologically sound SAP Fioneer Payment Centralisation solutions.

Prove solution viability:
- Lead fit-gap analyses and business cases to showcase value and uncover additional innovation opportunities.

navigate organisational interdependencies:
- Guide clients in shaping the most effective engagement strategy to address their unique challenges.

Drive business alignment in early project phases:
- Ensure your solutions achieve a high fit with long-term business goals and create sustained value.
Requirements
You will thrive if you bring:
- 7+ years of experience in consulting, banking, or software, with a focus on payments. Proven track record of delivering value early in engagements.
- Expertise in payments technology coupled with a deep understanding of the monetisation opportunities for clients’ banking and payment operations.
- Hands-on consultative approach – blending strategic thinking with project execution experience. Particularly valued for strategic discussions and early-phase engagements.
- Experience in responding to RFPs/RFIs and crafting high-quality proposals.
- Familiarity with SAP products/apps is a strong plus.
- Strong business acumen, entrepreneurial mindset, and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent communication skills, with English as a native or near-native level essential. Fluency in German is beneficial.
