Solutions Consultant - Presales
Defence | Secure Information Exchange | Solution Architecture | Customer Consulting
Location: Home-based with regular travel to customer sites across the UK (ideally South of England)
Help solve some of the UK's most complex information sharing challenges. Not every technical consultancy role is about selling software. This is an opportunity to work with organisations operating at the forefront of UK Defence, Government and Critical National Infrastructure, helping them solve complex challenges around secure information exchange, interoperability and cyber resilience.
You'll work alongside experienced architects, engineers and delivery teams to understand customer requirements, shape innovative technical solutions and act as the trusted technical advisor throughout the customer journey.
If you enjoy combining customer engagement, solution design and technical problem solving, this is a role where you'll have genuine influence over both customer outcomes and future product direction.
The Role
Working closely with the commercial team, you'll become the technical lead throughout the sales lifecycle, engaging with customers to understand their operational and technical challenges before designing solutions that combine software, services and technical expertise.
This is a highly consultative position where you'll balance customer engagement with solution architecture, workshops, technical presentations and bid support.
You'll also work closely with engineering and product teams, ensuring customer feedback and market insight help shape future development.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
Start with a chat, not a search bar
Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
