Do you dream of working with tourism, and would you like to promote Denmark as an ideal destination for leisure and business tourism, then here is your chance.

You will play a key part on the UK team as this role is very broad, providing support across BtC, BtB (travel trade) and Business Events. You will be part of an exciting international working environment, working with a very dedicated team in the UK and with an extensive network, internally in VisitDenmark as well as externally in the UK and Denmark.

VisitDenmark’s mission is to raise awareness of Denmark as an attractive tourism destination, increase international bed nights, and to ensure that tourism is distributed across seasons and throughout all regions of Denmark. VisitDenmark is branding Denmark internationally in close collaboration with the Danish public sector as well as private tourism partners.

We are looking for a colleague who can start on October 1st in a full-time position.

Tasks and responsibilities in the job:

As Press- and Marketing Coordinator you will support the PR- and Press Manager, the Marketing Manager and the Market Director in a wide variety of tasks across multiple fields; communication, content production, marketing, event coordination, press/PR, campaign management, business event and more.

The tasks are varied, and you need to be comfortable with balancing coordination, desk-based work and practical tasks. It is a role with a lot of opportunities for growth and development for the right candidate.

Your primary tasks and roles of responsibility are:

  • Assist the local Marketing Manager in the planning, execution, evaluation and reporting of marketing activities as well as gathering and analyzing useful data and insights
  • Assist the local Marketing Manager with Travel Trade activities, incl. taking a lead on updating our travel trade toolbox for the UK in close cooperation with the central trade travel team.
  • Assist the Press & PR Manager in the planning, execution, evaluation, media monitoring and reporting of Press & PR activities.
  • Coordinate marketing activities in close collaboration with the UK Content Manager and colleagues at HQ.
  • Assist the Market Director and the central Head of Business Events on the MICE market (Meetings and Incentives - business tourism).
  • Manage traveler requests
  • Contribute to various office related practical tasks
  • Contributing to the team’s expertise and market knowledge by monitoring and sharing trends and tendencies in the market as well as competitor monitoring

Your Qualifications:

We are looking for a candidate with a passion for tourism, and with a relevant education within tourism, communication, marketing, or similar. The role requires some international travel, primarily to Denmark.

The ideal candidate is/has:

  • 3 years of experience within Marketing, Content and/or Press & PR.
  • Fluency in English and excellent communication skills (written/oral).
  • Knowledge of Danish/Scandinavian culture.
  • Knowledge of the Travel industry preferred.
  • Excellent networking and relational skills.
  • Proactive in proposing new initiatives/partnerships
  • Good at team working and knowledge sharing.
  • Structured working approach and good at maintaining the overview while operating within different areas of responsibilities.
  • High level of professionalism in all deliveries.
  • Excellent time management.
  • Result oriented and working toward the established KPIs.

We Offer:

You will be based in the London office, which is located near Angel tube station in North London and consists of six motivated colleagues working across B2B, B2C, Press/PR and Business Events for the UK and across VisitDenmark. We are professional and serious, but also quite informal. Overall, you will gain around 100 new colleagues spread across our Head Office in Copenhagen and our markets abroad. We all take a pride contributing to the development and jobs creation throughout Denmark all year round.

The Press- and Marketing Coordinator will participate in various industry events and gain valuable contacts across the different functions. VisitDenmark supports learning and development as needed. We focus on providing a modern, flexible and equal working environment, where new ideas and perspectives are appreciated. The coordinator will be in daily contact with VisitDenmark colleagues across multiple market offices.

We operate a flexible working structure with an option to work two days a week from home, and we offer private healthcare and a pension plan.
