Prevention Outreach Worker

Change Lives. Fight Harm. Join Our Team: Pioneering Gambling Harms Prevention Programme

The South East Gambling Harms Partnership – protecting communities across Berkshire and North Hampshire.

Combating one of the UK’s most underreported public health crises, this groundbreaking initiative—backed by dedicated funding from the Office for Health Improvement and Disparities (OHID)—is transforming that our regional team of eight prevention specialists. Locations:

  • Berkshire roles based in Citizens Advice Wokingham
  • North Hampshire roles based in Citizens Advice Hart

Opening Roles: 5 Prevention Outreach Worker (Full-Time Equivalent)

📌 Salary: £28,392 – £31,000 prorata monthly rate 📅 Applications close: Thursday, 30th July

Postendმწண Wayne. You’ll challenge social stigmas and equip at-risk communities with tools to prevent gambling harm. Across Berkshire and North Hampshire, your work will resonate across these high-risk groups:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver targeted, participatory prevention workshops engaging four high-risk groups
  • Demystify gambling harms to reduce shame and isolation
  • Forge strong multi-agency collaborations; coordinated with harm reduction teams and regional providers
  • Build trusted relationships with 18-24 year olds

⚡ Core Details

⌚ Hours: 37.5 hours per week 📄 Contract: Fixed term, 31 March 2028—with opportunity for permanent status based on funding sustainability 🌐 Location: Hybrid—office base required but balanced with regular local outreach to whole West Berkshire, North Hampshire. Cash compensation for travel will be provided.
