Pricing Actuarial Analyst

Location: London | Flexible / Hybrid working

Are you a commercially minded pricing actuary or pricing analyst looking for a role where you can develop your expertise and make a real impact? At MSIG Specialty Marine, our actuaries are central to how we understand, assess, and manage risk. This role sits within our Pricing team, supporting Marine classes across approximately €400m gross written premium.

We are looking for someone with strong technical pricing foundations, good actuarial judgement, and the confidence to work closely with underwriters, product leads, and wider business stakeholders. This is an important hire for the team, offering the opportunity to step into a visible role where your work will support pricing decisions, portfolio performance, and model development across the business.

The Role

As a Pricing Actuarial Analyst, you will join a specialist Pricing team, providing analytical and technical pricing support across our Marine portfolio. You will work closely with other Pricing Actuarial Analysts, Pricing Actuaries, underwriters, Underwriting Management, and wider business teams to:

  • Develop, validate, and deploy pricing models.
  • Support the business with case pricing, renewal monitoring, portfolio reviews, and actuarial-related matters.

This role would suit someone with commercial pricing experience, ideally gained within the London Market or a specialty/commercial insurance environment, who is ready to continue building their actuarial and pricing expertise.

What You’ll Be Doing

You will be involved in a broad range of pricing and actuarial work, including:

  • Building strong relationships with pricing actuaries, underwriters, and Underwriting Management in the Insurance Division.
  • Assisting in the development and deployment of pricing models, ensuring compliance with the Technical Pricing Framework and Pricing Policy.
  • Preparing and analysing external and internal data to build, test, and validate technical pricing models.
  • Supporting underwriters with actuarial and technical matters, including:
    • Case pricing
    • Renewal monitoring
    • Expected loss cost calculations
    • Appropriate challenge where required
  • Supporting the business on actuarial-related matters.
  • Monitoring and improving business performance through Pricing Portfolio Reviews while providing an independent opinion on risk quality.
  • Maintaining and developing management information for analysis and reporting.
  • Liaising with teams such as Catastrophe Modelling and Underwriting Modelling Development.
  • Continuing progress towards a full actuarial qualification or similar.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
