Senior Pricing Executive – Shipping

Location: Wembley, London, United Kingdom

Employment Type: Full-Time

About the Role

DSL Group is seeking an experienced Senior Pricing Executive to join our UK team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing competitive shipping quotations, negotiating freight rates with shipping lines and overseas agents, and supporting the commercial team by providing cost-effective and profitable shipping solutions. The ideal candidate should have strong experience in container shipping, NVOCC operations, and international freight pricing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare competitive quotations for FCL, LCL, Breakbulk, Air Freight, and Road Freight shipments.
  • Negotiate freight rates, surcharges, and service contracts with shipping lines, feeder operators, transport providers, and overseas agents.
  • Provide accurate and timely pricing support to the Sales and Business Development teams.
  • Maintain and regularly update freight tariffs, carrier rates, and pricing databases.
  • Monitor freight market trends, carrier rate changes, and industry developments to ensure competitive pricing.
  • Liaise with shipping lines, overseas offices, and agents to obtain the best available rates and service options.
  • Ensure all quotations meet company profitability targets and are submitted within agreed timelines.
  • Support RFQs, tenders, annual pricing contracts, and strategic customer proposals.
  • Coordinate with Operations and Customer Service teams to ensure smooth execution of awarded shipments.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with shipping lines, overseas partners, and key service providers.
  • Ensure compliance with company pricing policies and operational procedures.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Shipping, Maritime Studies, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum 4–5 years of experience in container shipping, NVOCC, liner shipping, or freight forwarding pricing.
  • Strong knowledge of FCL, LCL, shipping documentation, freight tariffs, Incoterms, and international shipping practices.
  • Experience negotiating freight rates with shipping lines, overseas agents, and transport providers.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and MS Office applications.
  • Excellent analytical, commercial, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple quotations while meeting strict deadlines.
