The Role

Reporting into the Pricing Manager, the post holder will be responsible for scheduling services for timetable and rolling-stock changes and other administrative tasks within the Rail Availability and Reservation Service (RARS2) system, ensuring that the booking horizon for Advance fares is maintained during timetable changes.

The post holder will support the Pricing Manager with pricing activity at Industry Fares Setting Rounds (provisionally March, June and September) and throughout the year to ensure that fares data within the Product Management System (PMS) is up-to-date and accurate. The post holder will also assist in the creation of pricing models, updating ticketing restrictions and ensuring system compliance.

As part of the Pricing and Revenue Management Team, the post holder will support the Revenue Management Lead and Analysts in providing analytical support, assisting with the implementation and maintenance of revenue management strategies. General analytical and reporting support will also be provided within the wider Pricing & Revenue Management team.

The post holder will also be responsible for fielding ad hoc queries from other parts of the business with relation to items of direct responsibility.

Role Responsibilities

  • Responsible for updating RARS2 to ensure that the data contained within the system is accurate and up to date. This primarily involves correcting schedule gaps, implementing ad hoc restrictions, and updating fleet types.
  • Responsible for maintaining RSIDs and scheduling services within RARS2 reflecting the running timetable. Ensures that the Advance booking horizon is maintained wherever possible.
  • Supports the Pricing Manager with the maintenance of the Product Management System (PMS), helping to ensure that the data contained within the system is correct and preparing pricing models for submission.
  • Supports the Revenue Management Lead with the implementation and monitoring of revenue management strategies.

Who We're Looking For

  • High attention to detail.
