About the team
The Strategy group’s teams work with C-level Executives to identify, structure and solve their most critical strategic issues across the economic and transaction cycles. As part of a fast-paced and dynamic group, our consultants offer strategic advice on financial, business and operating models to corporate, public sector and private equity clients.
About the role
Within the Strategy group team we have an established pricing strategy practice, serving number of sectors including retail, consumer goods, healthcare, pharmaceuticals, transport and industrial manufacturing sectors serving UK, European and international clients. We work with C-level executives to identify, structure and solve their most critical strategic issues related to deal strategy, and growth strategy.
KPMG’s strategy group team is a specialised team focussed on solving pricing and revenue optimisation problems for its clients using data and analytics techniques to deliver a sustainable solution which can deliver both short- and long-term margin improvements. As a team, we are a group of bright committed individuals who are passionate about delivering fantastic client work, solving complex data related problems, investing our time in acquiring new analytical skills, and having fun both inside and outside of work.

Associate Director:
We are recruiting for an Associate Director with Pricing / Data Analytics experience.
Responsibilities:
- Lead teams, lead multi-disciplinary and complex projects under difficult circumstances and has delivered substantive, measurable operational improvements in complex businesses
- Able to operate across the full value chain of the sale - identify opportunity, shape it with client, develop proposal, commercials, scope etc and then close the deal
- Able to work alongside a client counterpart to scope, plan, mobilise and manage the progress of a project
- Capable of holding ultimate responsibility for the final output of a complex and multi-disciplinary project, including budgets, risk files and other relevant documentation
- Build strong, trusted adviser relationships with senior management and mid-level executives
- Develop insightful sector points of view on key strategic issues for your chosen sector(s)
- Communicate views and insights (both in writing and verbally) in an effective and compelling manner to clients and KPMG colleagues, able to adjust style to circumstances
- Supported / been involved in client pitches, bid managing sales efforts, having initial conversations with prospects (potentially supported by partners and directors) to shape ideas and opportunities
- Identify, design and lead critical and complex practice development initiatives, coordinating other members of the team
- Ability to review and assess large volumes of technical data and distil the key strategic insights
- Ability to evaluate complex challenges and deliver insightful recommendations that can be practically executed
- Strong numerical capabilities combined with sound commercial acumen
- Able to provide constructive and robust challenge to the work of colleagues to ensure the highest delivery standards
- Sound understanding of risk management in professional services environment
- Strong interpersonal/social /coaching skills and team-players, right cultural fit and attitude, highly motivated

Qualifications:
- Experience of pricing strategy consulting, ideally from either a boutique pricing strategy consulting firm, Big 4 firm, or experience in the pricing department in a corporate environment
- Ideally some experience in deal environment in pre or post deal margin improvement work
- Track record of working closely with large corporate clients and/or private equity to deliver high impact recommendations
- Detailed understanding of the pricing commercial knowledge across industries to need to make a real impact with our clients, and you can build the networks to make the role a success
- Considerable experience of leading and managing complex projects
- Experience of managing or supporting high value business development activities with senior stakeholders
- Extensive consulting experience including sales and business development skills
- Evidence of strong problem-solving and analytical capabilities
- Has had good exposure to managing senior / board room clients – able to manage and secure buy-in from senior stakeholders during the project
- Ability to work with other teams within a business to identify the most suitable combination of skills to deliver high impact for clients
- Excellent English written and oral communication skills
- A first class or 2.1 degree in quantitative/analytical studies such as economics, maths, statistics, engineering or equivalent experience.
