THE ROLE
As Pricing & Commercial Manager you will support commercial decision-making through pricing analysis, financial modelling, market intelligence, and deal support. The role will work closely with Portfolio Management, Sales, Revenue Operations, Market Intelligence, Operations, and Finance to optimize profitability while maintaining competitiveness in the market.
This individual will be responsible for implementing and enhancing existing pricing frameworks, developing pricing tools and models, supporting complex commercial negotiations, and providing data-driven recommendations that improve gross profit, margins, and win rates. The role will develop a strong understanding of voluntary carbon markets, supply dynamics, and commercial drivers to provide practical pricing recommendations that balance competitiveness, profitability, and risk. The role requires a strong analytical mindset combined with the ability to translate complex financial concepts into practical recommendations for non-financial stakeholders.
- Support profitable growth through effective pricing analysis and commercial decision support.
- Implement and continuously improve pricing frameworks, governance, and tools.
- Partner with Sales & Operations teams on high-value and strategic opportunities to optimize commercial outcomes.
- Develop and maintain market-based pricing models using internal and external data sources.
- Improve visibility into pricing performance, margins, and market competitiveness.
- Enable data-driven pricing decision-making across the organization.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Pricing Analysis & Commercial Support
- Provide pricing and profitability analysis to support commercial decision-making.
- Develop scenario models and business cases for strategic opportunities, RFPs, renewals, and complex negotiations.
- Partner directly with Sales teams to evaluate pricing options, margin impacts, and commercial trade-offs.
- Deliver timely recommendations that balance competitiveness, customer value, and profitability.
- Assess commercial risks and opportunities associated with pricing decisions, long-term agreements, and strategic opportunities.
- Support evaluation of market, supply, and margin trade-offs during commercial decision-making.

Pricing Frameworks & Governance
- Implement and maintain pricing frameworks, methodologies, and governance processes.
- Monitor pricing performance and identify opportunities to improve margins, win rates, and pricing consistency.
- Support the development and maintenance of pricing policies, tools, and documentation.
- Ensure pricing decisions align with approved commercial and financial guidelines.
Market Intelligence & Pricing Tools
- Build and maintain pricing models using internal performance data and external market intelligence sources.
- Partner with Market Intelligence teams to incorporate market trends, supply dynamics, and competitive insights into pricing recommendations.
- Develop dashboards, calculators, and analytical tools that improve pricing transparency and decision-making.
- Support ongoing enhancement of pricing databases and benchmarking capabilities.
Reporting & Insights
- Analyse pricing performance, margin trends, and deal outcomes to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Produce regular reporting and insights for commercial and leadership teams.
- Present findings and recommendations clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives related to pricing, commercial processes, and profitability.

INDUSTRY KNOWLEDGE
Required
- Strong commercial and financial acumen.
- Advanced Excel modelling skills and experience building complex financial models.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Ability to quickly assess commercial scenarios and provide practical recommendations.
- Strong commercial judgement and ability to work through ambiguous or incomplete information.
- Ability to balance market competitiveness, customer requirements, and profitability considerations.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to explain financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders.
- Strong stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Experience interpreting market, financial, and operational data to support decision-making.
- Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and meet deadlines.

Preferred
- Experience with Power BI, Tableau, Looker, or similar business intelligence tools.
- Experience working with large datasets and analytical tools such as SQL, Python, R, or equivalent.
- Knowledge of pricing strategy, margin optimization, or commercial excellence methodologies.
- Experience developing pricing models, calculators, or decision-support tools.
- Experience in carbon markets, sustainability, environmental markets, energy markets, renewables, commodities, or related sectors.
EDUCATION
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Accounting, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field.
Preferred
- Master's degree or professional qualification in a relevant discipline.
EXPERIENCE
Required
- 3-7 years of experience in pricing, commercial finance, revenue operations, financial analysis, commercial strategy, consulting, or a related analytical role.
- Experience supporting commercial teams through financial modelling and business case development.
- Demonstrated ability to analyse complex datasets and translate findings into actionable business recommendations.
- Experience working cross-functionally with sales, finance, marketing, or operations teams.
Preferred
- Experience supporting deal pricing, contract negotiations, or commercial approvals.
- Experience in carbon markets strongly preferred. Experience in renewable energy, environmental commodities, energy markets, emissions markets, or other complex and non-transparent commercial markets also considered.
- Experience implementing pricing tools, governance processes, or commercial frameworks.
