Role Description

Allianz UK Personal has an exciting opportunity for a Actuarial Pricing Manager.

Purpose of the Role

The purpose of this role is to lead detailed and sophisticated analysis in order to support the Underwriting and Technical function in achieving the underwriting performance metrics detailed in the Corporate Plan. The Pricing Manager will be constantly seeking to innovate across all aspects of pricing, including data, software tooling, technical approaches and the best means of collaboration with other teams to deliver our pricing sophistication to market.

Location

This role is based in one of our London Bishopsgate, Leeds or Guildford offices.

Salary Information

Your pay will be based on your experience, skills and location and forms part of our total rewards package.

About You

  • Lead the delivery of pricing forecasts, ensuring accuracy, insight, and alignment with business objectives
  • Conduct detailed analysis to set Pricing Best Estimates and inform underwriting decisions
  • Collaborate closely with pricing teams and wider stakeholders to deliver timely and robust forecasts
  • Validate and challenge key inputs to ensure forecast integrity and reliability
  • Partner with Technical Pricing teams to ensure models reflect the latest view of risk
  • Stay up to date with actuarial methodologies, market trends, and competitor insights
  • Provide clear guidance on interpretation and limitations of pricing outputs
  • Maintain high standards of model governance and control
  • Lead, coach, and develop pricing analysts, maximising team capability and engagement
  • Deliver reporting for key forums including Smart Circle, Pricing & Underwriting Forums, Insurance Committees, and Group reporting

Essential Skills

  • Strong background in insurance pricing or reserving
  • Expertise in actuarial methods and principles, ideally within pricing
  • Degree in a numerate subject
  • Proven ability to lead complex analysis and translate insights into business outcomes
  • Experience managing or mentoring analysts and building high-performing teams
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Ability to challenge the status quo and drive innovation

Desirable Skills

  • Actuarial qualification
  • Experience influencing senior stakeholders and contributing to strategic decision-making
  • Exposure to pricing model development and advanced analytics techniques
  • Knowledge of market trends, competitor pricing, and regulatory considerations
  • Responsible Artificial Intelligence usage and understanding of ethical AI in pricing
