Job Overview

We’re seeking a Motor Pricing Manager to join our Retail Pricing team here at AXA UK. You’ll lead a team of analysts in setting new business and renewal prices to optimise commercial performance subject to business appetite and customer treatment strategy. It’s an exciting time in our Pricing and Analytics department! Our transformation programme is in full flight, aligned to AXA Retail's new Pricing and Analytics strategy. AXA are investing a lot in growing our department in size and capability - across our IT systems, analytical toolset and learning and development. We'd love to hear from motivated people who can help us deliver our commitments to our business, our customers, and our people.

Key Responsibilities

  • Engage and build relationships with internal and external stakeholders to recommend appropriate price changes in line with business steer and financial targets
  • Review and critique behavioural, demand and market models ensuring they are fit for purpose with a focus on continuous improvement
  • Monitoring segmental and account performance, proposing and monitoring of optimisation and tactical rate changes
  • Influence the design and scope of performance monitoring capability efficiently transitioning insight into action
  • Challenge pricing proposals and risk model updates where appropriate to maintain rigour in the approval process
  • Develop and enhance analytical techniques, processes, and procedures, harnessing new technology
  • Ensure the customer is at the heart of all pricing decision-making to ensure fair value is delivered, with a strong focus on the impact on existing customers
  • Manage and develop the skills of direct reports. Train and support all analysts within the team

Work Arrangements

At AXA we work smart, empowering our people to balance their time between home and the office in a way that works best for them, their team and our customers. You'll work at least two days a week (40%) away from home, moving to three days a week (60%) in the future. Away from home means attending the office, visiting clients or attending industry events.

Your Skills & Experience

  • Higher education in a mathematics or computer science related discipline, with equivalent grades of 2:1 or higher, or evidence of equivalent proficiency
  • Good knowledge of products such as Python, SQL, Databricks and geographic analysis tools is desirable
  • Previous experience leading, motivating and developing a team of analysts to achieve targets and building a culture of positive energy, empowerment, creativity, and teamwork
  • Good understanding of the regulatory environment in which the business operates and understanding of the dynamics of large organisations
  • Ability to develop and steer strategy, advise on and communicate delivery plans
  • Good stakeholder management experience, including ability to build robust relationships, influence and manage stakeholder expectations
  • Self-motivated with a can-do attitude, valuing the contribution of others and understanding the need for collaboration
  • Optimisation and Market Pricing experience is desirable
  • Ability to work under pressure and to strict deadlines whilst maintaining reliability and accuracy
