Pricing & Portfolio Manager – Generics
Location: Reading (Hybrid)
About the Opportunity
Our client is a growing pharmaceutical organisation seeking a commercially focused Pricing & Portfolio Manager to join its Generics team.
This is a highly influential role at the heart of the business, responsible for driving:
- Pricing strategy
- Portfolio optimisation
- Commercial decision-making across a broad generics portfolio.
Collaborating closely with Commercial, Supply Chain, Finance, Regulatory, and external stakeholders, you’ll play a pivotal role in:
- Maximising profitability
- Identifying growth opportunities
- Ensuring the long-term success of the portfolio

Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement pricing strategies to support commercial growth across the generics portfolio
- Conduct thorough market, competitor, and customer analysis to inform pricing and portfolio decisions
- Lead portfolio lifecycle management, including optimisation initiatives and product prioritisation
- Partner with Commercial, Finance, Supply Chain, and Regulatory teams to align business objectives
- Monitor pricing performance and identify opportunities to improve profits and competitiveness
- Support cost optimisation projects, technology transfers, and portfolio changes
- Ensure compliance with relevant industry regulations and pricing requirements
- Develop and maintain pricing tools, dashboards, and reporting to support business decisions
- Liaise with key external stakeholders and industry bodies where required

About You
Ideal candidates will have:
- Proven experience in pricing, portfolio management, commercial excellence, finance, or a related discipline
- Pharmaceutical industry experience (with Generics, Branded Generics, or Established Medicines being a significant advantage)
- Strong analytical and numerical skills, with the ability to translate data into commercial insights
- Experience influencing cross-functional stakeholders and driving business decisions
- Strong project management and organisational skills
- Exceptional communication and relationship-building abilities
- An understanding of pharmaceutical pricing, reimbursement, or market dynamics (highly advantageous)
