An exciting opportunity has arisen for Band 6 Mental Health Nurses (RMNs) based within primary care settings across Fife
Full and part-time hours are available.
Role Overview
The Primary Care Mental Health Nurses work alongside primary care colleagues by offering support to GPs as a point of contact for patients presenting with mental health issues. As a Primary Care Mental Health Nurse (PCMHN) you will be triaging, assessing, and supporting patients ensuring safe, effective, and person-centred care.
Responsibilities
- Calling on your specialist clinical knowledge and clinical decision-making skills, you will deliver a range of holistic mental health assessments and support.
- Providing therapeutic interventions and referrals to the wider mental health service as required.
- Working in partnership with primary care services and secondary care mental health services.
- Identifying appropriate sign-posting to alternative services.
Requirements
- Applications for this post are invited from experienced RMNs, able to demonstrate enhanced skills, knowledge, and experience of working with adults across the age span presenting with a range of mental health problems.
- Experience of team working, problem-solving, flexibility, high-level communication skills, continuing personal development, and change management.
- Day-to-day responsibility for managing their workload and the assessment, care planning, and evaluation of patients presenting with a variety of mental health problems in primary care settings.
- A commitment to partnership working with a range of stakeholders is essential.
