NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC)

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) is one of the largest healthcare systems in the United Kingdom, employing approximately 40,000 staff across a wide range of clinical and non-clinical professions and roles. We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health services to a population of over 1.15 million people, and to a wider population of 2.2 million when regional and national services are included.

The Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for motivated and experienced Primary Care Nurses to join the GP Out of Hours Service within NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde. We are recruiting to five posts based across a number of Out of Hours locations, including New Victoria Hospital, Stobhill Hospital, and Royal Alexandra Hospital. Various contracted hours and shift patterns are available, including evenings, overnight shifts, weekend dayshifts, and public holidays.

Working as part of a multidisciplinary team alongside General Practitioners (GPs), Advanced Nurse Practitioners (ANPs), and Healthcare Support Workers (HCSWs), the Primary Care Nurse will provide safe, effective, and person-centred care to patients accessing urgent primary care services outside normal GP practice hours.

We are seeking Registered Nurses with experience in acute, emergency, urgent care, or other relevant clinical settings. Successful candidates will demonstrate excellent assessment, triage, communication, and organisational skills, together with the ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced environment while contributing effectively to multidisciplinary team working. A proactive approach, strong clinical judgement, and a commitment to collaborative team working are essential to success in this role.

In line with current Home Office requirements, we cannot sponsor this post. NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) can only issue a Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS) where these are met.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
