Job Overview
An opportunity has arisen to join the Chorley South Ribble Community Young People’s Mental Health (CYPMH) team as a Primary Mental Health Worker.
Role Description
The Primary Mental Health Worker (Band 6) will provide assessment, formulation, and delivery of evidence-based interventions for children and young people presenting with mild to moderate mental health difficulties. The post holder will work autonomously within defined protocols, offering timely support to prevent escalation to specialist CAMHS services.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide specialist mental health support, consultation, advice, and direct assessment and intervention to children and young people.
- Support the early identification of emotional wellbeing and mental health needs in children and young people and promote timely intervention.
- Play a key role in developing and maintaining effective partnerships across the locality.
- Support the implementation of the THRIVE framework and promote early help approaches.
- Deliver brief therapeutic interventions and work using the ACBI model.
- Undertake comprehensive psychosocial assessments.
- Provide consultation to professionals and families.
- Contribute to service development initiatives that improve access to mental health support for children, young people, and their families.
- Involve close multi-agency working with families, schools, and partner services.
- Offer consultation, advice, and training to education staff to support early intervention and promote emotional wellbeing.
