Primary Teaching Assistant
Level: School-Based Role Salary: £80 – £95 per day Duration: September 2026 to July 2027 Location: Large primary school, Ward of Yardley Duties: 1:1 support, small-group sessions, general teaching assistant
The Role
A varied and dynamic classroom position where you’ll provide essential support to pupils in a busy primary school. Responsibilities include:
- Delivering 1:1 and small-group assistance to reinforce core subjects
- Engaging pupils and fostering a positive learning environment
- Preparing simple classroom resources (e.g., task sheets, visual aids)
- Supporting day-to-day routines, teacher tasks, andWhile a teaching assistant primarily assists teachers and pupils, you’ll also aid with literacy, numeracy, social interaction, and tailored activities for 3–11-year-olds.

The Candidate
Seeking a motivated practice-focused professional (degree required) with:
- Flexibility, reliability, and strong communication skills (with pupils and staff)
- A passion for teaching and a genuine interest in education
- The desire to build primary school experience for long-term career growth (especially for those aiming for teacher training)
The role supports social, emotional, and educational development.
Requirements
- Degree – Minimum 2:2 in any subject.
- Clear & confident verbal/written communication.
- Enhanced DBS check – Current holder or willing to obtain one.
- Commitment to supporting pupils’ academic and emotional needs.
- Candidacy for teacher training routes considered an asset (but not mandatory).
