Principal AI Engineer
Principal Software Engineer – Generative AI - Up to £120,000 Hybrid | Greater London
Building AI products that genuinely impact the future of science DeepRec.ai are partnering with a global technology organisation operating at the intersection of AI, data, and life sciences to hire a Principal Software Engineer specialising in Generative AI.
This is a rare opportunity to move beyond prototypes and help build production-grade AI systems that transform how scientists and enterprises interact with complex data.
You’ll be leading the design and delivery of GenAI capabilities across large-scale platforms - taking ideas from concept through to real-world adoption.

What you’ll be working on: • Architecting and deploying LLM-powered applications • Building AI systems around RAG, intelligent search, summarisation, and automation • Designing scalable AI-ready data architectures • Taking GenAI solutions from PoC through to production • Setting engineering standards for reliability, evaluation, monitoring, and performance • Providing technical leadership across high-performing engineering teams
We’d love to speak with engineers who have: • Strong software engineering foundations • Hands-on experience building with LLMs • Experience delivering production GenAI systems • Knowledge of cloud-native architectures • A passion for applying AI to solve meaningful, complex problems
