Your role
Managing desk-based air quality, dust, odour and carbon emissions assessments for planning applications, environmental permit applications and Environmental Impact Assessments.
- Designing and managing air quality and other types of surveys, health and safety risk management, and client and stakeholder engagement.
- Leading air quality, dust, odour and carbon emission assessments for a range of infrastructure projects, including interpreting and reporting the results.
- Identifying solutions for mitigating effects of air pollution and carbon emissions.
- Preparing and delivering air quality reports, presentations and guidance which provide specialist technical opinions and advice.
- Managing bid teams and business development activities to secure work for yourself and the team.
- Working as part of a wider team of professionals across the business, to provide an integrated service to clients.
- Managing your own workload and that of others within defined budgets and programmes.
- Continuous professional development of technical and digital skills for yourself and others in the team.

- Hold a higher degree qualification (or equivalent) in a relevant scientific subject.
- Knowledge of a range of air pollution and carbon issues including relevant legislation, policies and standards applicable in the UK.
- Expertise in relevant areas of environmental science, atmospheric science, meteorology, air quality management, monitoring and/or modelling.
- Proficient in standard IT applications, such as Word, Excel, Outlook, and Powerpoint.
- Knowledge and experience of analysing and interpreting data using GIS.
- Experience of using statistical analysis packages and/or computer programming language and/or other digital tools would be an advantage.
- Pride in delivering technically excellent work, with high reporting standards and embracing innovative approaches to assessment.
- Experience of liaising with and managing relationships with regulators, stakeholders, contractors and/or suppliers.
- Prior experience of working in air quality consultancy or a job with similar types of responsibilities.
- Experience of leading technical inputs to planning consultations or inquiries is desirable, but not essential.
- Understanding of the interrelationships with other environmental and engineering specialisms.
- Be a full member of a relevant professional body; being Chartered is advantageous.
