Principal Antenna Engineer
Antenna Engineer RF Design
The Role
You will design and develop cutting-edge antenna designs, lead customer queries, and support the Chief RF Engineer in delivering project and product excellence, innovation, and process management. This includes mentoring junior engineers.
You will utilise CST Microwave Studio and related EM tools for simulation, alongside Microsoft Dynamics 365 (Project Operations/Planner) for CRM, ERP, scheduling, governance, and dashboard reporting.
Note: This role requires completion of SC clearance before commencement. Please consult our Security Clearance Guidance for Applicants prior to applying.
### Key Responsibilities
- Design and Development: Develop advanced antenna solutions
- Leading Customer Queries: Manage technical inquiries from clients
- Deputising for the Chief RF Engineer: Step into leadership as necessary
- Test and Verification: Ensure designs meet performance and compliance standards
- Product Assurance and Compliance: Maintain rigorous technical documentation and governance
- Mentoring and Team Development: Guide and grow junior engineers
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with mechanical, quality, manufacturing, commercial, and project teams

### Key Skills & Experience
Degree-qualified in any of the following:
- RF Engineering
- Microwave Engineering
- Electronics Engineering
- Physics, or a closely related discipline.
Industrial experience:
- Significant in RF and antenna engineering, with a proven ability to deliver products or technical solutions from concept through verification;
- Strong grasp of electromagnetic theory, antenna principles, transmission lines, impedance matching, and RF measurement techniques.
Technical expertise:
- Hands-on experience with CST Microwave Studio (or equivalent) for modelling, optimisation, and analysis;
- Practical knowledge of antenna and RF test activities, including VNAs and chamber-based measurements.

Professional competencies:
- Ability to produce clear technical documentation for reviews, verification, and lifecycle governance;
- Strong problem-solving skills, sound engineering judgement, and the ability to act autonomously;
- Experience mentoring and guiding junior engineers in a team environment;
- Proficiency in cross-functional teamwork, including collaboration with mechanical, quality, manufacturing, and commercial teams.
