Job Title: Principal/Associate – Water

Start here. Grow here.

"Are you ready to join a team of flood risk specialists and shape the future of the Water Industry?"

We’re looking for a Principal or Associate to join our growing Water team. In this senior technical role, you’ll lead teams to deliver real-time flood forecasting projects and help expand our services with the Environment Agency and beyond. While your primary focus is flood forecasting, you’ll also have opportunities to work on wider hydrology and non-real-time modelling projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leading flood forecasting initiatives:

    • Produce and review Flood Forecasting Inception Stage Reports, including assessing the quality of existing models and hydrometric data.
    • Develop, calibrate, and verify flood forecasting models (e.g., PDM, Flood Modeller).
  • Technical modelling and analysis:

    • Carry out non-real-time modelling and hydrological analysis using Flood Modeller, ICM, HEC-RAS, MIKE 11, and FEH hydrological methods.
    • Conduct hydrometric data processing and gauge rating reviews.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
