Senior Insurance Disputes Lawyer – Principal Associate (London Insurance Disputes Team)
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced senior insurance disputes lawyer to join our London Insurance Disputes team as a Principal Associate.
You will advising on a broad range of insurance coverage and liability defence matters, collaborating with multiple partners on complex, often international disputes. With significant responsibility for managing matters day-to-day, supervising junior lawyers, and actively contributing to client development, this is a genuinely senior role offering ownership of workstreams, client relationship-building, and the opportunity to shape practice growth.
A deep understanding of the London insurance market—including Lloyd’s and subscription risks—is essential. You must be confident advising on:
- Policy interpretation
- Coverage disputes
- Liability defence (including professional indemnity)
- Subrogation
- Dispute resolution strategy
The Activities
Our London Insurance Disputes team handles a diverse and evolving caseload, working across key areas such as:
- Directors & Officers (D&O) and financial lines
- Cyber and technology risks
- Credit and political risk, including political violence
- Property damage
- Reinsurance disputes
- Fraud-related claims
- Professional indemnity covers (solicitors, accountants, brokers, construction professionals)
- Specialty lines (specie, personal accident, accident & health)

The Person
Ideal candidates are self-motivated insurance lawyers with:
- 8+ PQE (or equivalent experience), preferably gained at a leading insurance speciality firm.
- A track record of taking ownership of complex, high-value dispute workflows.
- Strong ministerial skills, ability to collaborate closely with partners, and business-savvy thinking.
