Principal Associate - Insurance Disputes (0500)

Senior Insurance Disputes Lawyer – Principal Associate (London Insurance Disputes Team)

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced senior insurance disputes lawyer to join our London Insurance Disputes team as a Principal Associate.

You will advising on a broad range of insurance coverage and liability defence matters, collaborating with multiple partners on complex, often international disputes. With significant responsibility for managing matters day-to-day, supervising junior lawyers, and actively contributing to client development, this is a genuinely senior role offering ownership of workstreams, client relationship-building, and the opportunity to shape practice growth.

A deep understanding of the London insurance market—including Lloyd’s and subscription risks—is essential. You must be confident advising on:

  • Policy interpretation
  • Coverage disputes
  • Liability defence (including professional indemnity)
  • Subrogation
  • Dispute resolution strategy

The Activities

Our London Insurance Disputes team handles a diverse and evolving caseload, working across key areas such as:

  • Directors & Officers (D&O) and financial lines
  • Cyber and technology risks
  • Credit and political risk, including political violence
  • Property damage
  • Reinsurance disputes
  • Fraud-related claims
  • Professional indemnity covers (solicitors, accountants, brokers, construction professionals)
  • Specialty lines (specie, personal accident, accident & health)

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
