About the Role

At WSP, we empower you to shape a career as unique as your ambitions. With a global network and a mission to positively impact communities worldwide, we invite experienced professionals to join us. An opportunity has emerged for a Senior Wastewater Process Engineer (Associate) to lead process engineering design across UK and international projects, including wastewater and water reuse solutions.

Based in Birmingham, Bristol, Manchester, Liverpool, London, Newcastle, or Glasgow, you will collaborate in multidisciplinary teams to deliver cutting-edge, client-focused water solutions—from feasibility studies to detailed design, procurement, and construction.

    • Conduct outline and detailed process engineering design for projects spanning municipal and industrial wastewater treatment, such as primary/secondary/tertiary treatments (MBR, MBBR, ASP, membrane filtration, chemical dosing).
    • Contribute to advanced concepts, including circular economy, Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD), and emerging tertiary treatments.
  • Project & Client Collaboration

    • Attend site visits for data collection, meeting operators to assess requirements and performance.

    • Attend/drive HAZOP, HAZID, ENVID, and SWIFT studies to ensure safety and risk mitigation.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
