We are seeking an experienced Principal Bridge Engineer to lead the delivery of structural and bridge engineering projects. Based in either Manchester or Leeds with hybrid working, this contract role involves overseeing technical quality, programme delivery, and client engagement. It’s an excellent opportunity for a Chartered Engineer with strong technical leadership skills.

Client Overview Our client is a highly regarded consultancy that delivers infrastructure and structural engineering solutions across multiple sectors.
Responsibilities Lead the delivery of small to medium bridge and structural work packages to programme and budget Provide technical direction, review, and approval of designs, calculations, and reports Act as a key point of contact for clients and internal stakeholders Mentor and guide junior engineers to support team capability Ensure compliance with standards, specifications, and governance processes Contribute to project planning, risk management and commercial control Must-have Requirements Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (or equivalent) Chartered Engineer status (CEng MICE / MIStructE) Extensive experience in bridge and structural design, assessment, or asset management Proven experience leading technical delivery on projects Strong knowledge of relevant design codes and analysis methods Excellent communication skills and ability to manage multi-disciplinary interfaces Nice-to-have Skills Experience working on Local Authority or rail-related structures Familiarity with asset management systems and inspection regimes Previous experience acting as CRE, checker, or design lead Apply Now If you’re a Chartered Engineer looking for your next challenge, we’d love to hear from you.
