Principal Building Control Surveyor
Team: Building Control
Job Family: Enabling - CBG13
- Salary: £51,471 - £55,585 per annum pro rata plus £6,500 Market Rate Supplement per annum pro rata
- Hours: 37 hours per week
- Location: You will be expected to attend a CBC office location as often as needed (no less than once per month).
- Contract Type: Hybrid – Permanent
- Closing Date: 31st July 2026
- Interview Date: 7th August 2026

Join our Building Control team as a Class 2 A–F Registered Surveyor and play a key role in delivering safe, compliant buildings across a diverse mix of urban and rural projects.

Ideal candidates will have:
- A degree (or equivalent qualification and experience) in Building Control Surveying or a related subject
- Membership of a relevant professional institute
- Building control experience and strong communication skills
- Proven experience and evidence of working on a range of domestic projects in line with their registration.
While we offer flexible and hybrid working arrangements, there is an expectation that the postholder will regularly—probably daily—visit sites across the CBC area.

Probation Policy
All new Hybrid role starters will join with a four-month probationary period. During this time:
- You must attend Central Bedfordshire Council office locations more frequently to ensure thorough onboarding.
