Principal Building Surveyor / Assistant Director of Land & Property Services

Work on buildings that really matter

We’re looking for a talented Principal Building Surveyor to join our Property & Estates team, someone who wants more than a routine role. This is a unique opportunity to work across a fascinating and varied portfolio, from historic buildings full of character to residential homes and community spaces that make a real difference to people’s lives.

Why this role is different

  • Every building has a story—and every day brings a new challenge.
  • You’ll balance hands-on technical work with strategic input.
  • You’ll play a key role in improving sustainability and long-term resilience.
  • You’ll work with people, not just buildings, making a tangible impact across our estate.

What you’ll be doing

You’ll lead on:

  • Repairs, maintenance, and improvement projects.
  • Carrying out building surveys and assessments.
  • Managing contractors and vendors.
  • Helping shape long-term investment plans.
  • Contributing to sustainability initiatives.
  • Ensuring buildings are safe, efficient, and fit for the future.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
