Job Description

This is an opportunity to lead some of the UK's most significant solar, storage and private wire projects, helping transform ambitious developments into investment-ready renewable energy assets.

At EDF power solutions, we’re delivering an Electric UK and Ireland.

About the Role

As a Principal Business Development Manager, you’ll play a pivotal role in maximising project value, shaping commercial strategy, securing routes to market, and helping deliver renewable energy projects from development through to construction and beyond.

The Opportunity

This is a high-impact leadership role within our Solar, Storage and Private Wire team. You’ll lead a major pre-FID solar project, bringing together multidisciplinary experts to de-risk projects, build compelling investment cases and help drive projects through key development milestones. Your work will directly influence investment decisions and support the growth of renewable generation across the UK.

Alongside a competitive salary and potential for an annual bonus, this role offers UK-based hybrid working, part from home and our London office. We know flexibility matters, so we offer a hybrid approach that helps you balance collaboration and focused work.

You’ll work at the forefront of the rapidly evolving renewable energy sector, engaging with senior stakeholders, customers and industry partners. From developing commercial strategies to supporting major project delivery, you’ll have the opportunity to make a lasting contribution to EDF power solutions’ growth and net zero ambitions.

Why EDF power solutions?

We’re united by a shared ambition: to tackle climate change, shaping an Electric UK and Ireland. Our diverse team is growing fast, driven by innovation and a commitment to clean, green energy for all.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
