The opportunity
As a Principal at Gate One, you will operate as a senior leader across client delivery, business development, and firm building.
You will lead large, complex change-led transformation programmes within Life Sciences organisations - for example, across pharmaceuticals, biotech, or medical devices - helping clients navigate regulatory, operational, and cultural complexity while embedding lasting change.
You will build trusted relationships with senior stakeholders, act as a strategic advisor within accounts, and play a leading role in shaping new opportunities and growing Gate One’s presence within the Life Sciences sector.
Alongside client work, you will contribute to the development of Gate One’s change capability, mentor and develop consultants, and take ownership of key initiatives that support the growth of the firm.
You will
Lead complex Life Sciences change engagements
- Lead multiple large and complex change-led transformation programmes, with accountability for delivery, quality, and client outcomes.
- Design and deliver end-to-end change approaches across areas such as culture, behaviours, stakeholder engagement, communications, and adoption.
- Operate as a trusted advisor to senior client stakeholders, navigating complex organisational and regulatory environments.
- Oversee multiple teams across engagements, ensuring consistent delivery quality and supporting the development of others.
- Provide quality assurance across deliverables and uphold high standards across all aspects of engagement delivery.

Lead business development and account growth
- Shape and develop new opportunities within existing and new Life Sciences clients, acting as a senior pursuit lead.
- Lead complex bids, proposals, and senior client conversations, bringing together the right teams and propositions.
- Build and lead account development plans, establishing long-term, trusted client relationships.
- Grow your network within the Life Sciences sector, contributing to Gate One’s market presence and reputation.
- Play a meaningful role in driving revenue growth through relationship-led business development activity.
Build the business and develop others
- Lead a key strategic priority for Gate One, such as capability development, sector growth, or internal initiatives.
- Take a leadership role in the development of Gate One’s Change Management capability and Life Sciences proposition.
- Coach, mentor, and develop consultants across the firm, acting as a senior leader and role model.
- Play an active role in recruitment and firm-wide activities, contributing to the growth and culture of the business.
About you
You will have around 10 years’ experience working within management consulting environments and will already be operating at Senior Manager or Principal level, with a proven track record of leading complex transformation engagements.

- Deep expertise in change management, with the ability to design and lead large-scale transformation programmes end-to-end.
- Significant experience within the Life Sciences sector, with a strong understanding of its regulatory, operational, and organisational complexity.
- A track record of leading large, high-value engagements and managing senior client relationships.
- Strong experience in business development, including shaping opportunities, leading bids, and contributing to account growth.
- Experience leading and developing teams of consultants, including coaching and mentoring more junior colleagues.
- Excellent communication skills and emotional intelligence, with the ability to build trust and influence at senior levels.
- A collaborative, values-led leadership style aligned to Gate One’s culture and ways of working.
