At BWB, we’re shaping places where people live, work, and thrive. As a Principal Engineer, you’ll play a pivotal role in delivering innovative civil engineering solutions for a diverse client base — from local authorities to national developers.
No two days are the same. You’ll work on a wide variety of challenging projects, balancing preliminary and detailed design across roads, levels, drainage, and external works — in both public and private realms. From inception to commissioning, your expertise will help bring projects to life and make a lasting impact.

What You’ll Be Doing
Lead and contribute to multi-disciplinary projects, managing design of highways, drainage, and external works. Use industry-leading software (Civil 3D, AutoCAD, MicroDrainage, or PDS) to deliver innovative, efficient designs. Engage with planning authorities, statutory undertakers, and national bodies to shape solutions that work for all. Act as a trusted advisor to clients, understanding their unique needs and building long-term relationships. Mentor and support junior engineers, helping the next generation of talent grow and thrive.
What You’ll Bring
Strong technical expertise in Civil Engineering design, from concept through to delivery. Proficiency in design software and confidence in adapting to new tools. Commercial awareness and a clear understanding of client needs across public and private sectors. Excellent communication skills and the ability to build relationships at every level. A collaborative, positive mindset — with the drive to lead, mentor, and make a real impact.
