Principal Civil Engineer

Opportunity for a Principal Civil Engineer to join our growing team in Cheltenham, GL50 3LH.

We are very proud of our work space in Cheltenham, which includes high quality open plan workspace, with views out over Cheltenham, natural light, large kitchen dining space flowing out onto a large sun terrace, a gym, showers, bike storage, meeting rooms, break out spaces…an investment in creating a special work space for our people to enjoy. About 40 of our people are based out of Cheltenham, including civil engineering, transport planning, water environment, landscape architecture and business services team members. A place to collaborate and socialise.

What we’ll expect from you and the skills and experience you’ll need:

Manage small to large company projects, from inception through to implementation, to the highest standards. Assist with the day-to-day management of a sub team of engineers, responsible for resourcing and signing off timesheets. Liaise with stakeholders, external project team members and clients. Undertake site visits. Provide support to Associates regarding the financial management of projects and proposals. Prepare Drainage Strategies and engineering reports to support planning applications. Prepare technical drawings such as preliminary highway designs, drainage and external works designs, ground modelling, S104, S278 and S38 drawings, including for the subsequent negotiation through to approval. Actively carry out business development for the company. Provide technical training to junior staff.
