The Role
This role involves providing authoritative civil and structural engineering leadership, operating as the Design Authority for a high-profile fusion plant project. You will define civil design vision and standards, ensure integrated infrastructure development, and support from concept to delivery. Your responsibilities will include:
- Establishing governance frameworks
- Managing design risks
- Driving technical excellence in a highly regulated environment
You'll work closely with multidisciplinary teams, providing independent engineering judgement while ensuring compliance with safety standards and programme requirements.
Qualifications & Experience
- Proven expertise in civil and structural engineering within complex, regulated projects.
- Extensive experience in design authority roles, ensuring delivery of compliant, integrated civil and infrastructure solutions.
- Strong understanding of safety-critical systems, compliance standards such as CDM, and regulatory requirements.
- Demonstrated ability to operate effectively in environments characterised by uncertainty and evolving design baselines.
- Knowledge of systems integration, project governance, and risk management in large-scale engineering projects.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of leading technical reviews and influencing stakeholders confidently.
