Role: Principal Clinical or Counselling Psychologist (B8A)

A 0.4 WTE / 14.4-hour vacancy has opened for this position within Florence Street Community Mental Health Team (CMHT) in the Gorbals area of South Glasgow.


About the Role

You will join an experienced, dedicated multi-disciplinary team comprising Psychologists, Nurses, Occupational Therapists, and Psychiatrists. Your primary responsibility is to deliver a high-quality psychology service to adults receiving secondary mental health care support from the Community Mental Health Team.

Key duties include:

  • Providing professional supervision to multidisciplinary team (MDT) colleagues on their delivery of psychological interventions
  • Contributing to the governance of psychological practice within the team
  • Being line-managed and professionally supported by the Consultant Clinical Psychologist
  • Engaging in Continuing Professional Development (CPD) through South Glasgow’s Adult Mental Health Psychology Department

Person Specification

Essential Requirements

  • A Doctorate in Clinical or Counselling Psychology and HCPC registration in this field
  • Experience in adult mental health, either through clinical training or post-qualification practice
  • Experience or eligibility for formal training in supervising trainees, recognised by the DClinPsy programme
    • This includes familiarity with docteurate-level clinical psychology trainees or similar

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver clinical psychology services to adults in secondary care
  • Supervise the psychological practice of MDT colleagues
  • Offer clinical placements to trainees, including those training for the DClinPsy
  • Engage in professional collaborations with the Adult Mental Health Psychology Department
