Clinical Leadership Opportunity: DBT Team Lead (CAMHS) – South West London & St George’s NHS Trust
About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity to lead an established specialist CAMHS Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) service within South West London & St George’s NHS Trust. The team operates across Sutton, Merton, Wandsworth, Kingston, and Richmond, delivering intensive, evidence-based therapy to young people and their families.
The service supports those struggling with:
- High levels of emotional dysregulation
- Self-harm and other self-destructive behaviours
- Complex trauma presenting in outpatient settings
The well-established, energetic, and dedicated multidisciplinary team has built strong collaborations with:
- Other CAMHS services across the boroughs
- Local DBT teams within the South London Partnership
The role offers the successful applicant: ✔ Training in Prolonged Exposure therapy for trauma management.
About the Team and Culture
You will join a vibrant group of clinicians within the DBT team and the broader Psychology and Psychotherapies department. The team operates within a positive, supportive culture, fostering professional and clinical growth.
Key Responsibilities
This role is for an able, committed CAMHS professional with DBT expertise, tasked with delivering high-quality clinical leadership in working with:
- Young people and their families
- Multi-disciplinary teams
- Interagency partnerships

The team’s mission is to provide effective, trauma-informed therapy through a structured DBT framework.
Requirements & Experience
Essential
- DBT training and clinical experience
- Experience working with children and young people (preferably in community-based mental health settings)
especially those requiring support for:
- Complex high-risk behaviours
- Emotional dysregulation
- Self-harm
- Familiarity with multi-disciplinary working practices
- Knowledge of Safeguarding and Child Protection policies and procedures
Desirable
- Experience with patients presenting clinically with trauma
- Experience in working with disordered eating
- Experience in service evaluation or research projects
