About the Role
Are you a Clinical Psychologist who is passionate about delivering compassionate support to families accessing the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit?
Do you want to:
- Make the most of an exciting opportunity to join an innovative multidisciplinary team?
- Work creatively to develop clinical psychology as part of the NICU MDT?

This is a varied Clinical Psychology role where you will:
- Provide assessment, formulation, and intervention to families accessing the NICU.
- Support staff teams creatively in a challenging yet rewarding setting.
- Represent the LMNS in the local neonatal workstream.
- Provide clinical supervision to other clinical psychologists working locally.
Key Duties
- Join a friendly, multi-disciplinary team based on the NICU, working closely with:
- The perinatal and maternal mental health psychology team (within community perinatal mental health services).
- Work within a supportive professional environment:
- Supervision provided by a Consultant Clinical Psychologist.
- Support from the Neonatal Network Lead to guide clinical practice.
- Combine face-to-face and remote working, maintaining excellent work-life balance with flexible arrangements.

About the Service
The Neonatal Unit at Royal Stoke University Hospital, University Hospards of North Midlands NHS Trust, is a:
- Busy and dynamic Level 3 Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.
- Supports 6500–6800 births per year (including regional referrals).
- Specialises in all levels of critical care, from 22 weeks gestation to beyond 38+ weeks.
- Features:
- 26 cots (10 intensive care + 14 special care).
- 6 high-dependency cots.
- 10-bed Transitional Care Unit.
- Neonatal Community Outreach Team dedicated to post-hospital transition.
Key features include:
- Direct access via the Delivery Suite for stabilisation and immediate NICU transfer.
- Collaboration with Interventional Radiography, Fetal Medicine, and Antenatal Screening departments for neonates requiring complex perinatal care.
