Principal Credit Risk Consultant
Salary
£90,000-£120,000
Location + work pattern
London (2 - 3 days a week in office)
THE COMPANY
This organisation is a well-established financial services consultancy. They partner with a range of lenders to deliver data-driven insights and strategic solutions, combining deep technical expertise with commercial understanding.
THE ROLE
This is a senior position focused on leading the delivery of complex credit risk projects while supporting business growth and team development. You will work closely with senior stakeholders, oversee multiple engagements, and contribute both strategically and technically.
Specifically, you can expect to be involved in:
- Hands on with SQL and SAS or Python
- Building and growing client relationships
- Overseeing project teams to ensure high-quality, timely outputs
- Contributing to analytics work including modelling, such as scorecards and portfolio analysis
- Supporting business development through client engagement and proposal development
- Mentoring and developing junior team members

YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Strong experience in credit risk and analytics within consumer or SME lending
- Recent experience engaging in Business development role to maintain and grow client relationships.
- At least 2 years experience leading end-to-end delivery of credit risk and analytical projects in a consultancy space.
- Proficiency in data analysis tools such as Python/SAS, and SQL
- Currently engaging in Business development to ensure project pipeline is continuous.
- Proven ability to manage projects and lead analytical teams
- Experience with modelling techniques (e.g. scorecards, forecasting, or machine learning) within the credit risk space.
- Ability to communicate complex analytical findings clearly to stakeholders
