About Turner & Townsend

At Turner & Townsend we’re passionate about making the difference delivering better outcomes for our clients, helping our people realise their potential, and doing our part to create a prosperous society. Our Programme Advisory team works with major global clients across infrastructure, transportation, utilities, commercial, government, natural resources and real estate, supporting the set‑up, transition and transformation of complex programmes. ON THE MARK (OTM), now part of Turner & Townsend, contributes over 35 years of operating model and organisation design expertise to these programmes.

Job Description

We are seeking a Principal Consultant to join our Organisational Effectiveness capability within Programme Advisory (OTM). You will lead and co‑lead delivery workstreams on complex transformation programmes, integrating operating model and organisation design with people‑centred change to achieve measurable outcomes. You will work in multi‑disciplinary teams, shape delivery plans, guide Senior/Consultant colleagues, and build strong client relationships at senior levels.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and deliver organisational effectiveness and operating model interventions within major programmes, aligning strategy to structure, ways of working and outcomes.
  • Lead or co‑lead workstreams/HIT teams; plan facilitation; prepare and quality‑assure core artefacts (narrative, documentation packs, workshop outputs, implementation tools).
  • Diagnose current state using OD and cultural diagnostic methods; assess change impact and readiness; shape transition plans, L&D analysis, engagement and communications.
  • Coordinate programme delivery logistics: calendars, governance rhythms, collaboration platforms, and project management tools ensuring data accuracy and document control.
  • Contribute to proposals, business cases and thought leadership; connect client needs to OTM case history and best practice; support masterclass delivery and accreditation activities.
  • Build trusted relationships with senior stakeholders; provide clear, evidence‑based recommendations and manage risks and issues proactively.
  • Lead knowledge transfer and close‑out (BAU handover, case studies, lessons learned) and feed improvements back into our methods and toolkits.
  • Coach and mentor junior team members; contribute to internal capability building, continuous improvement and practice development.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
