We’re recruiting for a Cyber Security Consultant to join our industry-leading Cyber Security Capability team, specialising in delivering tailored services across industries including Energy, Healthcare, Smart Infrastructure, Aviation, and Maritime.
About the Role
You’ll join a team dedicated to helping clients mitigate risks and enhance digital resilience through:
- Technical cyber security consultancy aligned with OT and IT advancement in Digital Transformation projects
- Development of risk-based, proportionate recommendations across project lifecycles
- Translation of strategic security goals into actionable practices
Working in-house or as part of multidisciplinary teams, your expertise will shape solutions for governments, industries, and partners across key OT/IT projects.
Responsibilities
You will collaborate on and support the following:
- Cyber Security Compliance:
- Advising clients on NIS-D, NIST, ISO 27001, ISA/IEC 62443, and sector-specific frameworks
- Governance & Management Systems:
- Supporting Cyber Security and Information Security Management Systems development
- Contributing to governance design for safer, resilient operations
- Threat & Risk Assessment:
- Assessing cyber security controls, evaluating risk from architecture proposals
- Risk & Requirements Analysis:
- Tailoring tailoring security requirements to real-world operational contexts, with support from senior colleagues
- Collaborative Problem-Solving:
- Partnering with public agencies, partners, and supply chains in designing holistic technical strategies
- Consistent Best Practices:
- Ensuring delivery of secure, repeatable processes across multiple projects
- Knowledge Sharing & Outreach:
- Supporting prospect presentations by explaining WSP’s security expertise and addressing digital resilience challenges

Requirements
We’re looking for a Cyber Security Consultant with expertise in Operational Technology and Systems Engineering, and a passion for putting practical security knowledge into action.
Technical Proficiency
You will have the following, ideally rooted in consultancy, supplier, or end-user environments:
- Deep understanding of OT, IT, and IoT/IIoT security frameworks
- Experience with sector-specific applications (e.g., Energy, Nuclear, Oil/Gas, Rail/Road)
- Hands-on knowledge of Telecoms, SCADA, mission-critical, safety-critical, or big data architectures
- Forte in threat modelling, vulnerability analysis, and risk matrix methodologies
- Familiarity with Secure DevOps and secure systems engineering lifecycles
- Governance-based experience including Cloud Security (including OT in Cloud), Incident Management, and SOC operations
- Familiarity with advanced platforms/tooling: IDS/IPS, SIEM, EDR/MDR, encryption & hardening
Career & Educational Background
- Degree in engineering, computer science, or a related discipline—or equivalent industry experience
- Chartered professional status or relevant accreditation (Engineering Institute, Cyber Security Institute) is a highly recommended qualification
- Proven team leadership in OT/IT or electronics environments
Soft Skills & Professional Attributes
- Ability to provide mentoring and instructional support in collaborative settings
- Stimulating insights to proposal-writing and bid responses for cyber security deliverables
- Client-facing consultation and presentation skills with a focus on problem-solving and trusted relationship-building

Ideally, your consultancy experience will include: ✔ Advising clients on adopting frameworks like ISA/IEC 62443 and NCSC’s Cyber Assurance Framework ✔ Supporting design and development of secure OT systems ✔ Developing needs-analysis reports, designing agile, ITIL- or V-model-based penetration plans
