Pay Range £37k - £45k basic salary + uncapped commission
Job Description
Role: Principal Consultant - Social Care Solutions
Location: Liverpool
Working model: Hybrid - 2 days in the office, 3 days working from home
Contract: Full Time, Permanent
As a Principal Consultant, you’ll lead on winning new business across the public sector - focusing on local authorities and social care services. This is a pure business development role where you’ll take ownership of building a pipeline, opening doors, and securing new partnerships. You’ll engage senior stakeholders, understand their workforce challenges, and position solutions that deliver real impact. This is not a traditional recruitment role. While sector knowledge will come, your success will be driven by your ability to identify opportunities, generate conversations, and convert them into long-term business.
What you’ll be doing
- Driving new client acquisition across local authorities and public sector organisations
- Building and managing a targeted pipeline of prospects using CRM and market insight
- Cold calling, outreach, and networking to create opportunities and meetings
- Engaging and influencing senior stakeholders and decision makers
- Leading consultative sales conversations to understand client challenges and position solutions
- Working with internal specialists to develop and deliver tailored proposals
- Converting opportunities into new business wins and long-term partnerships

What we’re looking for
Must-have experience
- Proven track record of winning new business in a BD or sales role
- Strong experience in cold outreach, pipeline building, and deal conversion
- Confident engaging and selling to senior stakeholders
- Experience working towards targets and revenue goals
Nice to have
- Experience selling into the public sector or regulated industries
- Background in consultative, solutions-based sales
- Exposure to recruitment, consultancy, or managed services
