As a Principal Engineering Manager in our Transportation team, you'll be pivotal in implementing ideas that shape the future of how we move. You'll collaborate across new build, renewal, maintenance, and assessment works, from our largest, most high-profile to our more progressive and specialised.
As part of our Scotland Highways and Active Travel team, you'll lead on landmark programmes such as the A9 Dalraddy–Slochd, A83 Rest & Be Thankful, East Airdrie Link Road, Ravenscraig Access Infrastructure South, and Westerhill Development Link Road. You'll also support major energy infrastructure such as the Skye Overhead Line Realignment.

Your role
- Provide expert project leadership across a range of multidisciplinary projects.
- Lead on project delivery, ensuring high standards in both quality and programme.
- Support the growth of the practice by identifying opportunities, mentoring others, and contributing to business development.
- Establishing strong, collaborative, and trusted relationships with external and internal clients, becoming a trusted advocate for the Business.
- Collaborate within dynamic, multi-skilled teams sharing knowledge, solving complex problems, and driving innovative solutions.
- Champion a positive, inclusive working culture where wellbeing and flexibility are prioritised.

About You
- Able to demonstrate experience of developing strong and sustainable relationships with Clients, understanding their requirements and aspirations, and working effectively with them to achieve their objectives.
- Excellent communication skills and stakeholder engagement.
- Highly developed interpersonal and leadership skills with proven ability to build and motivate teams working across the practices.
- A hard working and flexible individual, who is a team player, is reliable, proactive and shows initiative whilst able to keep cool under pressure and when working to often demanding deadlines.
- A disciplined thinker and analytical, numerate, problem solver who has strategic judgement and the capacity to think complex issues through and develop effective solutions in a timely fashion.
- A resourceful, articulate and clear communicator who can influence others through the use of sound judgement and good sense – a natural team player.
- Self-motivated and able to work both independently as well as within a larger multi-discipline team in leading and managing packages of work to completion.
- A high expectation of performance for themselves and other members of the team.
