Principal Digital Risk Consultant (Risk and Governance)

Principal Digital Risk Consultant – Digital Risk Professional (MIAA)

We are seeking enthusiastic Digital Risk professionals to join our successful teams across all MIAA regions. We want driven individuals who:

About the Role

As a Principal Digital Risk Consultant, you will earn up to £77,368, taking lead responsibility for managing and delivering a broad, challenging portfolio of audit and advisory assignments, including the conduct of highly complex work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Meet deformation quality standards for assigned audit opinions while contributing to the Head of Internal Audit Opinion document and helping draft the Annual Governance Statement.

  • Direct and supervise staff to ensure on-time, budgeted, high-quality delivery of allocated assignments.

  • Present findings regularly to relevant client committees and boards.

  • Address a broad range of sensitive and complex client/employee queries.

  • Provide Cyber Security, Data Protection, and Information Governance assurance, advice, guidance, and services for clients.

    • Focus on improving risk monitoring, reporting, and remediation efforts.
  • Must be prepared to travel extensively, requiring a valid driving license and transport arrangements.

Requirements

A dedicated professional with significant experience in:

  • Designing, agreeing, and overseeing delivery of risk-based digital assurance plans. These plans must provide assurance aligning with the Head of Internal Audit Opinion’s expectations for internal control effectiveness.

  • Identifying, defining, and delivering complex advisory assignments. Tailor these actions services to meet specific client needs.

    • Aims include expanding/retaining income from advisory activities.
  • Managing planning, conduct, quality, and deliverables for complex assurance and advisory work within set budgets, deadlines, and quality constraints.

  • Operating as a budget holder—ensuring:

    • Income is maximised.
    • Costs are controlled.
  • Supporting dynamic adjustments in audit plans to accommodate shifting priorities for Audit Committees’ reporting needs.

  • Cultivating client relationships—special focus on:

    • Chief Information/Digital Officer
    • Chief Clinical Information Officer
    • Chief Nursing Information Officer
    • Senior Information Risk Owners
    • Data Protection Officer
    • Key digital staff.
  • Delivering technological, digital risk advice on current or prospective risks to care, service, and business activities.
