Principal Drainage Engineer

Principal Drainage Engineer

Location: London or Canterbury (Hybrid working available)

Salary: Competitive + Excellent Benefits

Are you an experienced Drainage Engineer looking to take the lead on technically challenging projects within a growing environmental consultancy?

We're recruiting for a Principal Drainage Engineer to join an established team delivering innovative drainage, flood risk and water management solutions across a diverse portfolio of development and infrastructure projects.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys combining technical expertise with project leadership, client engagement and mentoring junior engineers.

The Role

You'll lead the delivery of drainage and flood risk projects from inception through to completion, providing expert advice on surface water and wastewater management. Working closely with clients, planners and multidisciplinary teams, you'll develop practical, sustainable solutions while ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
