🔍 About the Role: Assystem Energy & Infrastructure Ltd is growing, and we’re seeking a dynamic Principal Electrical, Control & Instrumentation (EC&I) Engineer to lead our most exciting projects across Nuclear, Defence, New Build, and Infrastructure. You’ll provide top-notch technical leadership, working with high-profile clients like Sellafield, Rolls-Royce, EDF, BAE, F4E, and Hinkley Point.
👷 What You’ll Do:
- Lead & Deliver: Guide EC&I engineering teams in delivering innovative solutions for complex projects.
- Plan & Prioritize: Shape project plans, prioritizing Health & Safety and Environmental standards.
- Design Reviews: Act as Lead Engineer, overseeing design reviews, technical discussions, and formal evaluations.
- Support & Collaborate: Provide expert advice, supporting both staff and clients through technical challenges.
- Mentor & Motivate: Mentor team members, set objectives, and foster a collaborative work environment.
- Optimize: Ensure projects stay on budget and aligned with schedules, working closely with Project Managers.
- Client Liaison: Serve as the primary technical contact, coordinating with clients throughout each project.

Qualifications
🎓 What You Bring:
- Experience: 10+ years in EC&I design and management, with expertise in two areas (e.g., Control Systems, Radiometrics, Functional Safety).
- Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with highly regulated industries, control systems, design phases, configuration management, and life cycle stages.
- Leadership Skills: Proven abilities in leading teams, managing project complexities, and driving continuous improvement.
- Qualifications: Degree (or equivalent) in Electrical, Instrumentation, or Control Engineering; advanced degrees are a plus.
✨ Bonus Skills:
- Lab Facility Design: Experience with laboratory facilities and nuclear systems.
- Electrical Distribution: Expertise in HV/LV electrical systems and modular building projects.
- Sellafield Experience: Involvement in Sellafield projects or similar environments is a plus!

Additional Information
Security clearance
This role requires the successful candidate to hold a minimum of a Security Check (SC) clearance without any caveats to that clearance.
Due to the nature of work this role will be delivering and for the protection of certain assets, the successful candidate has to be a UK national or in MoD approved cases a Dual National from a non-ITAR country.
