Principal Ecologial Consultant - London, Bristol or Cirencester

Principal Ecological Consultant (Generalist & Ornithology) – London, Bristol or Cirencester.
Join our ecology team in a senior role combining technical leadership, project delivery, client engagement and mentoring. We’re looking for an experienced ecological generalist with a strong ornithology specialism to help grow our ornithology offering across a diverse project portfolio. We are open to applications from individuals who could be based in either our London, Bristol or Cirencester office.
What You Will Do
- Lead and deliver complex ecological projects across infrastructure, renewables, residential and conservation.
- Design and deliver ornithological survey programmes, impact assessments and mitigation strategies.
- Provide technical leadership and quality assurance across reports and advice.
- Act as a trusted advisor to clients through planning and consenting processes.
- Support, mentor and develop colleagues within the ecology team.
- Help shape best practice and drive the continued development of our ornithology services.
What we’re looking for:
- Proven experience delivering ecological consultancy projects, including managing budgets, programmes and stakeholders.
- Strong generalist ecological knowledge with a demonstrable ornithology specialism.
- Experience designing and delivering bird surveys and translating results into clear, proportionate advice.
- Confident report writer with experience supporting planning/consenting (and, where relevant, inquiry/appeal processes).
- A collaborative leader with the ability to mentor others and build strong client relationships.
