Location: Glasgow or Edinburgh | Flexibility: Hybrid Salary: £55,000–£60,000+, plus discretionary earnings (DOE)

About the Role
As a Principal Ecologist, you will:

- Lead ecological projects from planning through to construction, providing technical leadership
- Manage client relationships and mentor junior team members
- Work across a varied portfolio covering:
- Infrastructure
- Renewables
- Residential developments
- Influence project delivery and contribute to the continued growth of the ecology team
About You
- Significant consultancy experience within ecology
- Strong understanding of Scottish planning and environmental legislation
- Experience in:
- Leading ecological projects
- Managing client relationships
- Expertise in at least one specialist area (e.g., ornithology, habitats, mammals, or botany)
- Full member of CIEEM (or working towards Chartership)
- Encouraged to hold:
- Protected species licences
- Experience with Ecological Constraints and Wildlife (ECoW)
- Full UK driving licence required
