About the Role
Our Regulated Water Asset Design team serves the municipal water sector in the UK and internationally. We hold long-term framework agreements with water companies like Severn Trent Water and Southwest Water. We also collaborate with major contractors, including Costain and Galliford Try, delivering water treatment, wastewater treatment, sewerage, and water network schemes across the UK.
We are actively recruiting Senior and Principal Electrical, Instrumentation, Control & Automation Engineers (EICA) to support the AMP8 water industry capital investment programme.

Key Responsibilities
You will be an integral member of the Water Engineering team. As part of a team or independently, you will:
- Design and deliver technical solutions for various facilities and projects.
- Produce and/or check detailed EICA engineering deliverables, supporting tenders, concept and detailed design, and construction/commissioning.
Core Duties:
- Deliver EICA design inputs for infrastructure-related projects.
- Prepare and/or review EICA package deliverables (e.g., technical specifications, calculations, reports, datasheets, schedules, control philosophies, user requirement specifications, and associated documentation).
- Review and execute tender evaluations.
- Participate in proposals, scoping of work, including identifying key tasks, packaging, and developing resourcing/time estimates.
- Understand DSEAR (Dangerous Substances and Explosive Atmosphere Regulations) for EICA equipment in explosive atmospheres.
- Attend factory acceptance tests for panel, PLC/HMI application software, and SCADA.
- Manage inspection, testing, setting-to-work, and commissioning stages for ICA equipment and installations.
- Coach and mentor junior staff in the ICA discipline.

What We Will Look For
- A degree (IET-accredited) in electrical or control engineering or a minimum electrical/control HND with substantial experience.
- Professional registration with the Engineering Council as a Chartered or Incorporated Engineer.
- Extensive experience in EICA engineering design for water infrastructure, specifically:
- Preparing and reviewing deliverables like technical specs, calculations, reports, datasheets, schedules, control philosophies, user requirement specs, and network architecture drawings.
- Knowledge of DSEAR, electrical equipment in explosive atmospheres, and CDM regulations.
- Strong client-facing skills, with a diligent, collaborative, and motivated mindset to work in team, WSP, or independently.
- Willingness to travel to operational and construction sites for surveys, inspections, and testing, ensuring safety is maintained.
- Practical understanding of electrical safe systems of work.
